OVERVIEW:
Dogwood Antiques is a small business started by an interior designer who resells hand-picked antiques. The logo is inspired by an historic antebellum home with dogwood trees in the front yard, which the interior designer renovated. The aesthetic of the business is very classy, elegant and southern, with many navy decor items; therefore, I reflected this style in the logo design, typography, and color choice.
Clean DePAWsit is an entrepreneur student's idea for a new pet product. It is a dog leash with a special feature which will tie the dog waste bag for the dog walker for a hands-free clean up. The company takes a sustainable approach; therefore, green was chosen as the primary color. In addition, the friendly typeface is intended to appeal to pet owners. I created two logo marks for the client to either choose from or use as a primary and secondary logo. The first logo mark is a double visual: It is both a dog waste bag and a dog paw to really emphasize the DePAWsit in the product's name. The second logo mark is a visual of the actual product incorporated into the logo, which was a request from the client.
Slide and Find is an entrepreneur student's concept to help those in dangerous situations. The product is a small gadget that attaches to the back of your phone and can be used when your phone battery is dead to share your location with friends when you are in need of help. The product is the response to a serious matter; therefore, that is echoed by the serious typeface and chosen color pallet. The colors – black and red – are also the colors of the gadget. The "d" doubles as a pinpoint because of the product's ability to locate the user. Inside the pin, the low battery level represents the situation where the product is needed.
