My name is Ann Claire Edwards, and I am a graphic designer and artist from Charlotte, North Carolina. I graduated in May 2023 with a BA in Graphic Design and a minor in Studio Art. Throughout my work, I explore today’s global challenges through a youthful lens. I believe young people have a unique perception of the world and unmatched creative genius. By channeling my inner child when creating my own work, I can develop honest, uninhibited, and joyful designs – even when my work addresses difficult issues. I employ a variety of physical mediums and juxtapose these materials with digital elements to create visual interest and authenticity. In my designs, I value texture, patterns, hand-drawn illustrations and analog type because each of these elements helps visually signal juvenility. I am inspired by the great Pablo Picasso as he famously said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain one once we grow up.” I aspire to emulate a child’s artistic freedom while addressing our world’s tragedies to make society a better and more beautiful place to live.
